A YOUNG man was stabbed near Leamington railway station at the weekend.
Police received a number of calls around 3pm on Sunday about a man lying injured. He was believed to be outside the new flats behind the station.
He had suffered a single stab wound and injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.
Police want to speak to two young black men aged around 20 who were believed to be wearing dark coloured tracksuits and ran through the station underpass to the front of the station where they collected two bikes. They ran to the taxi rank and climbed into a white people carrier taxi.
Officers also want to talk to a man who was believed to have been with the victim and suffered head injuries in the attack but received treatment from a security guard.
Det insp Tim Sharpe said: “I am appealing for witnesses or anyone with any information who may have seen this man or may have seen what happened to him to please come forward as soon as possible. The young man suffered a single stab wound and was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital where he is currently being treated for his injuries.
“These are not thought to be life threatening at this time and he is in a stable condition.”
