MOTORISTS, residents and businesses are being invited to give feedback on Highways England’s £61 million upgrade of the A46 Binley junction in Coventry via a pioneering tech software tool.
Binley is the first major Midlands scheme to benefit from Highway England’s new software ECHO, which stands for Every Customer Has an Opinion.
This new feedback tool has been launched on the scheme website here offering locals the chance to let them know any thoughts about their work.
It includes an interactive map enabling people to pinpoint the precise location of something you might have seen to inform the agency about.
Once submitted online, comments are passed directly to the project team to quickly put right any issues. Any positive feedback can also be shared with other project teams elsewhere within Highways England.
Project manager for the Binley upgrade, Amy Molyneux, said: “This new tool is an exciting development and gives you an additional way to let us know about something.
“ECHO is a great addition to the A46 Binley scheme because it uses an interactive map which means you can pinpoint the area of the issue you would like to raise.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s good or bad, we want you to help shape our decision-making process and to make sure we do the right thing for you.”
The ECHO tool is also now in place on the M56 motorway upgrade between junction 6 near Manchester Airport to 8 Bowden and is set to be rolled out further across Highways England later this year.
Customer service manager at Highways England, Emma Jobin, said: “People are at the heart of everything we do. We chose Binley specially as the first scheme to benefit from the ECHO tool because we know that there are local businesses next to the TGI roundabout as well as residents nearby, many of which might have comments on work so far.
“If something is going well it’s really important you let us know. This feedback means we can try and adopt these methods elsewhere on another Highways England project.”
