BABIES and young children at Zoё’s Place Baby Hospice are jumping for joy after receiving a donation to pay for a custom-made trampoline.

The Canon Park retailer Tesco donated £3,200 to cover the cost of a specialised trampoline which will be used for Rebound Therapy with the children.

Rebound Therapy is a fun and interactive therapy designed for individuals with restricted mobility – often as a result of their conditions or long stays in hospitals.

Muna Chapman, corporate manager at Zoё’s Place, said the therapy has proved very popular with the children.

The charity based in Easter Way provides palliative, respite and end of life care to babies and infants aged from birth to five years who are suffering from life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.

The hospice, named after the Greek word for gift of life, was founded by chairman of trustees, Professor Jack Scarisbrick in 1995.

He identified a large number of families with children suffering from life-limiting or life-threatening conditions who were in desperate need of specialist facilities.

Muna said: “As a charity we rely heavily on donations in order to deliver our services.

“We are very grateful for the help we receive from Tesco and it is support from our partners that enables us to be there for families at difficult times.”

Leann Sullivan, community champion at the Tesco store at Cannon Park, said: “Zoe’s Place is such a wonderful charity that offers much needed support to children and their families.

“The store has a great relationship with the charity and we admire the life-changing work they do. They are an asset to Coventry.”
