THE ACHIEVEMENTS of Blaze chairman and Great Britain general manager Andy Buxton were recognised during a special presentation to mark his 50th game as GB manager.
Great Britain won the silver medal but suffered heartbreak in their final game at the World Championship (Division 1B) in Eindhoven.
Pete Russell’s side needed a point to secure promotion but a goal seven minutes from time meant Lithuania won the game and claimed bronze.
Earlier in the tournament Buxton celebrated his 50th game in charge and a special presentation took place in the dressing room ahead of the 2-1 win over Estonia.
Buxton was presented with a commemorative plaque by Ice Hockey UK general secretary Andy French.
French said: “Andy is a massive part of Great Britain and he works day and night for the national program.
“He literally works non-stop and he is obviously so proud to be part of GB.
“It is lovely to mark this special milestone and IHUK felt it was important that it was recognised.
“He is very opular amongst the squad and they all gave him a massive cheer when he was presented with the award.”
