JULIE Emmerson claimed a superb individual bronze competing for Coventry Godiva Harriers at the Midland Cross Country Championships held at Newbold Comyn in Leamington.
Emmerson led the ladies team home in third place to secure a bronze medal with Sophie Hurst 19th, Penny Oliver 21st and Isabella Boneham 79th.
That meant the ladies A team finished fourth overall with 122 points.
And supporting the A team were debutant Hannah Covell 84th, Jayne Mumford 98th, Dewi Dankmeyer 117th, Sophia Charters 120th, Jodie Greenfield 137th, Ang 163rd and Paige 168th on debut.
In the men’s race, Joe McLeod led Godiva home in 41st with Andy Boon 81st, Daniel Taylor 92nd, Clark Roberts 110th, Peter Eccleston 116th and David Cooper 121st.
The team finished eighth overall with 561 points.
There were also strong performances from Sam Marshall 125th, Matthew Hadlum 143rd, Anthony Mitrofaniuk 147th, Michael Todd 151st, James Wright 157th on debut, Sam Katanda 175th, Richard Todd 192nd, Maddox 193rd, Chris Hurst 199th, Jason Brotherhood 208th, John Treadwell 217th, Nem Hoskins 218th, Waising Yip 219th, Jose Ortiz 229th and Martin Gittins 248th.
That came after the club’s junior athletes took part in the opening race as Godiva’s under-15 boys team finished ninth on the day.
