COVENTRY Godiva Harriers missed out on promotion by a single point at the final Midland Track and Field League meeting of the season in Stoke-on-Trent.
Godiva sat joint-second at the start of the day with only the top two clubs being promoted to Division One.
However, Godiva’s senior athletes fell just short in their quest for promotion to miss out on a top-two finish by one point as Cannock and Stafford AC clinched the final Division One place next season.
That left Coventry in third place in the league as they prepare for another season in Division Two.
Francessca Rivers proved to be the club’s most prolific points scorer over the course of the season as she gained 95 individual points across four fixtures.
And Joseph Gilkes was the highest male points scorer with 71 points to finish fourth overall behind Kate Anderson (second with 75 points) and Cheuk Yan Lam (third with 72 points) with the latter unable to compete in the fourth fixture due to being away in Hong Kong.
The club have a vacant team manager spot available for any athlete, former athlete, parent or volunteer who would like to take over for the 2023 summer season.
Anyone interested should make their interest known to the club.
