COVENTRY Godiva Harriers athletes won 16 medals at the senior and under-20 Midland Championships at Nuneaton’s Pingles Stadium.
The Championships also included under-15 and under-17 combined events as Godiva Harriers came away with five gold, eight silver and three bronze medals.
Coventry’s athletes produced a series of great performances and achieved several personal best (PB) times.
In the combined events, Eleanor Barker (under-15) and Imogen Lane (under-17) both won gold in the hexathlon and heptathlon respectively.
And Rusciano Thomas-Riley (under-20) won double gold in the sprint races as he stormed to victory in the 100m and 200m.
Next to claim gold was Sophie Hurst (senior) in the 1500m as she became Coventry’s fifth Midland champion of the weekend.
Moreover, Stephen Baffour won two silver medals whilst Jake Minshull, Success Ariyibi, Camiah Bennett, Amelia Starling, Francessca Rivers and Naomi Jones all came away with one silver.
And there were bronze medals for Rivers, Rob Marlow and William Chalmers as Coventry’s athletes enjoyed a medal-laden weekend in Warwickshire.
