Bailey stunner puts silverware on a Plate for United

Coventry Editorial 4th Mar, 2020   0

EXTRA-TIME delight for Coventry United Ladies’ development team handed them the FA Women’s National League Reserve Plate after Sunday’s 2-1 triumph over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Following a goalless first half, it was Wolves who assumed the upper hand in the final when Chloe Shirley struck six minutes after the restart.

The goal looked to be enough to earn the Wolfettes victory at the Pro:Direct Stadium in Nottinghamshire, until Ellie White restored parity with 90 seconds left to play.

With momentum suddenly in their favour, Rhea Bailey then scored directly from a corner in the opening minutes of the first period of extra-time to hand the Red and Greens silverware.
