Blaze without enforcer as tough guy Klotz leaves Coventry

Coventry Editorial 11th May, 2017   0

ICE HOCKEY: TOUGH guy Garrett Klotz will not feature in Danny Stewart’s Coventry Blaze roster next year after it was confirmed the popular skater has left the club.

Klotz iced in 60 Elite League competition games last season – registering six goals, three assists, and 12 fighting majors.

The 28-year-old was involved in one of the fights of the year when him and Sheffield’s Zack Fitzgerald clashed at the Skydome in October – a fight which was viewed millions of times on the internet.

Many Blaze fans voiced their concern about Klotz’s lack of ice-time last season, however he won’t be appearing at all next season after news broke on Wednesday (May 10) morning.

The Blaze have thanked Garrett for his efforts on ice and wished him the best future.
