BOWLS - Warwickshire Women ease to victory against neighbours Leicestershire

WARWICKSHIRE Women led from start to finish in a 121-84 victory against neighbours Leicestershire in their first Middle England League fixture of the season.

The highest winning rink went to Jenny Corn with Jayne Henfrey (both Lillington), Gillian Greenbank (Avenue Coventry) and Aleen Shuttleworth (Stoke).

The quartet secured five shots on the seventh end en route to a resounding 27-7 victory.

And Pat Moore (Three Spires) with Alison Boyd (Nuneaton), Ros Taylor (Avenue Coventry) and Anita Cowdrill (RLS) cruised to a 25-11 success.

Sue Hornsby (Lillington) with Vivienne Belt (Stratford), Joy Cooke and Gill Maund (both Sherwood Park) recovered from a slow start to win 21-14 after picking up five shots on the seventh end.

And Heather Mills with Dawn Horne (both RLS), Wendy Holloway (Welford) and Pat Gagg (Lillington) also triumphed 21-14.




However, the quartet of Debbie Bloxham (Stratford) with Di Medhurst (Avenue Coventry), Jane Chedgzoy (Welford) and Jenny Wickens (RLS) suffered a narrow 16-13 defeat.

And Maureen Edwards with Becky Lever (both Rugby Thornfield), Pippa Mace (Lillington) and Anna Molony (Avenue Coventry) lost 22-14 in their match.
