COVENTRY’S Aaron Bowen claimed an impressive second round knockout win to remain unbeaten in the professional ranks.

Bowen moved to 7-0 (5 KO) with a devastating TKO win against Argentine Carlos Miguel Ronner (7-6) at Windsor Park in Belfast.

The Coventry fighter dominated the first round as he landed punches at will.

Bowen stepped it up another gear in round two as a vicious body shot floored Ronner close to the ropes.

And a huge right hook ended the fight moments later after Ronner briefly returned to his feet.

Bowen said: “I’m a little critical [of myself]. I’m struggling with the lower level [of fighters]. No disrespect, they’re great operators.

“When I step up in class, English, British, European level, I think I’ll really shine.

“That shouldn’t be an excuse but I will be better. It was a good victory.

“One-hundred people coming from Coventry to fly out and see me fight. That means the world to me.

“Matchroom are making my dreams come true. I’m loving every minute of it.

“It was quiet. I don’t like it quiet. There was a moment in the ring where I thought I’m just going to have a fight.

“I couldn’t wait to watch the main event and hear that noise because I know one day it’s going to be in Coventry.

“We’ve been ordered for the Midlands title in November. I can’t wait.

“It started from the grassroots, every amateur show we were selling out. It’s going to go all the way to the Coventry Building Society Arena.”

Bowen’s promoter, Eddie Hearn added: “It was nice to see Aaron make it look easy.

“He’s got these incredible fans who travel with him and he did what he should be doing.

“He’s a quality prospect that should be getting rid of people like that quite comfortably and in clinical fashion.

“Now is the step up. His first 10-round fight at the end of November.

“When we’re ready for English or British title eliminators, we’re going to do our first show in Coventry with Aaron Bowen.

“He’ll sell out an Arena on his own in Coventry. In two or three fights he’ll be ready to start challenging for a British title.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun watching him doing it because he’s one of the most exciting fighters out there.

“Coventry – get ready for some wild nights in 2026.”

Bowen fought on the undercard of a world title showdown between Lewis Crocker and Paddy Donovan.

Former UFC star Molly McCann also made her pro boxing debut in the fight before Bowen took to the ring.
