A WARWICKSHIRE golf club is teeing up for its second annual Help for Heroes charity golf day.

Brandon Wood Golf Course and Club, based in Wolston, will host the tournament on Friday, August 14 with all proceeds donated to Help for Heroes, a charity which supports injured British servicemen and women and their families.

Competitive action on the day will include a singles 18-hole tournament for both men and women as well as on course challenges such as longest drive, straightest drive and nearest the pin in two shots.

A number of prizes will be awarded to the winning teams including afternoon tea for two at Coombe Abbey Hotel and golf equipment provided by John Reay Golf Centre, in Coventry.

Neil Orton, manager at Brandon Wood Golf Course and Club, said: “Last year’s tournament proved to be very popular with more than 60 people taking part in the action.

“This year, we hope to smash those figures and attract more golfers to raise even more money for what is a very worthy cause.”
