FOOTBALL: COVENTRY City will welcome former manager Tony Mowbray to the Ricoh Arena in August after the Sky Blues were drawn against Blackburn Rovers in the first round of the Carabao Cup.

The draw took place in Bangkok, headquarters of the tournament’s new sponsors, this afternoon.

Last season, the Sky Blues – then managed by Mowbray – defeated Portsmouth in the opening round before being knocked out by Norwich in the second round after losing 6-1.

Manchester United are the defending champions after they defeated Southampton 3-2 in last season’s final at Wembley.

Games will take place on the week commencing August 7.
