FOOTBALL: PROMISING young striker George Thomas has agreed to sign with Leicester City following the expiry of his contract.
The Sky Blues ‘reluctantly’ accepted an offer from Leicester City following a protracted period of negotiating a revised contract with the 20-year-old.
The Coventry City Academy graduate has been with the club since the age of nine and scored his first goal in a Sky Blues shirt in the Checkatrade Trophy Group Stage tie against Wycombe Wanderers. He went on to score the winning goal in the Final at Wembley Stadium later that season.
Manager Mark Robins admitted he was disappointed Thomas had come to the decision.
He said: “He is a fantastic lad and everyone associated with Coventry City wish him all the very best.
“Hopefully our paths can cross again at some point in the future.”
