FOOTBALL: STRIKER Stuart Beavon has agreed a new contract with Coventry City.
The forward has put pen to paper on a new two-year deal which will expire in June 2019.
Meanwhile, we understand speculation is true that Leicester City have made a bid for Wembley Checkatrade Trophy goalscorer George Thomas.
The new contract for Beavon sees the removal of the relegation release clause which existed in Beavon’s original deal with the club.
Manager Mark Robins said “We are delighted that Stuart has signed a new contract. The agreement sees him extend his stay with us for a further year, with the relegation clause subsequently removed.
“Stuart has impressed me since we have worked together, and is a model professional with a tremendous attitude and can play a significant role moving forward.”
Beavon is the fifth City player to sign a new contract, following Chris Stokes, Lee Burge, Dion Kelly-Evans and Ryan Haynes in committing to the Sky Blues.
