BRINKLOW under-14’s proved too hot to handle for Firefighters in the Coventry Minor League, running out 4-1 winners.
The visitors went ahead through a 25-yard free-kick that flew into the corner, but the hosts were not to be denied and levelled five minutes later.
A free-kick was delivered into Arjun-Veer Singh Sembi, who fired the ball in from the edge of the penalty area, before a second soon followed from Ryan Prior.
He put away the rebound after Dan Frodsham’s volley was smashed against the frame of the bar to give Brinklow a half-time lead.
The hosts stepped up the pressure after the break and gave themselves a cushion when Prior struck his second of the game with a simple finish, after excellent work from Frodsham.
Prior wrapped up his hat-trick with the game dwindling out to seal the win.
Brinklow sit fourth in the table, and next visit eighth-placed Coventrians on Sunday (11am).
