TOM Ingram suffered a puncture in the third and final race at the end of a frustrating second weekend of the new British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) at Brands Hatch.
The Coventry driver had to settle for an 18th place finish in race three, after claiming an impressive podium in race two following a seventh place finish in race one.
After the weekend’s racing, Ingram sits third in the drivers’ standings on 85 points behind Ash Sutton (95) and Colin Turkington (93).
Ingram secured his third podium finish of the season, after winning two of the three races in the season opener at Donington Park, as he crossed the line second in race two behind eventual winner Turkington and ahead of title rival Sutton.
The Team Bristol Street Motors driver hounded Sutton in the battle for second place as the latter eventually relinquished his place on the grid.
However, a puncture in the final race of the weekend forced Ingram to pit and saw him lose crucial ground on his title rivals.
Ingram returns to the track at Snetterton on May 25 and 26.
