CAL Crutchlow has committed his future to Honda HRC and the LCR team by extending his contract for the 2016 season.
The Coventry-born rider, who is currently based on the Isle of Man, has produced a series of impressive performances this season on his factory-spec Honda RC213V bike.
The 29-year-old has so far claimed 74 points in 2015 and showed his potential by claiming a podium finish in Argentina back in April after finishing third at the Termas de Río Hondo circuit.
Honda announced this week that Crutchlow has signed a new deal for next season and there is also a further option to extend that into 2017.
“I am very happy to continue my relationship with LCR for 2016 and 2017,” said Crutchlow.
“Lucio Cecchinello (Honda team principal) has a fantastic team and I look forward to growing further with them and with Honda.
“We started the season well and I believe we can score some great results in the rest of this year and in the season to come.”
Cecchinello, added: “I am happy to announce the extension of our cooperation with Cal, who is one of the most talented riders in the whole MotoGP field.
“He has got the skills and the potential to battle with the top riders and fight for the podium spots, as he demonstrated in Argentina earlier this season.
“Cal is extremely professional and during the season we have built up a great rapport. it’s a pleasure to be working with Cal again in 2016 and I look forward to the years to come.”
