SNOOKER: PRIZE money for this year’s Champion of Champions event at the Ricoh Arena has been increased to £370,000 by promoters Matchroom Multi Sport.
The total purse for the tournament, which takes place from November 6-12, is up by £70,000.
Group semi-final losers will now receive £12,500 while players defeated in the group finals will pocket a tidy £17,500.
As per previous years, the winner will receive £100,000 with the runner-up to pocket £50,000 and the two defeated semi-finalists taking home £25,000.
The tournament will start with four, four-man, groups, with one group played out on each of the opening four days.
Each group comprises two semi-finals played over seven frames, followed by a final in the evening played over 11 frames.
The four group winners proceed to the best of 11 semi-finals, one of which is played on the evening of Friday, November 10, with the second on Saturday evening.
The final will be decided over 19 frames and two sessions on Sunday, November 12.
Defending champion John Higgins, UK Championship winner Mark Selby, and World Open winner Ding Junhui have all been invited to take part.
ITV will broadcast the competition, which this year celebrates its fifth anniversary.
