Chris Stokes remains with Sky Blues until end of season

DEFENDER Chris Stokes will remain with the Sky Blues on loan until the end of the season subject to Football League and FA approval.

The 23-year-old full back initially signed on a 28-day loan from Forest Green and made his full debut against Sheffield United last month.

Stokes has impressed manager Tony Mowbray since his arrival and has started in all seven matches during his loan spell.

His performances have earned him a move until the end of the current season as the Sky Blues look to maintain their League One survival.

“Since I’ve came into the club, I’ve been impressed with Chris’ attitude and application in training, and on a match-day,” said Mowbray.

“As I said after the Fleetwood game, I like him because he listens to you, looks you in the eye, nods his head and then goes on to the pitch to try to do what you want.

“We’re delighted to be able to extend his loan spell until the end of the season and the challenge for him is now to keep hold of his place in the team, and continue his progression.”
