FOOTBALL: COVENTRY City have completed the signing of defender James Pearson, the son of well-known football manager Nigel Pearson.
The 24-year-old, who was a free agent, joins on non-contract terms and is eligible to play in the Sky Blues’ opening day fixture at home to Notts County.
Pearson has been on trial with the club in the build up to the new season and plays at right back or centre half.
The former Leicester man started his career at Rotherham and has enjoyed loan spells at Carlisle United, Wrexham and Peterborough United.
Pearson started his career at Rotherham before joining Leicester City, then managed by his dad Nigel Pearson, and has enjoyed loan spells Carlisle United, Wrexham and Peterborough United. More recently he was on Barnet’s books until leaving at the end of last season.
