THE OBSERVER has teamed up with the Genting Casino Coventry Blaze to offer one lucky family a night out at one of the city’s most fast-paced evenings.

The winner will receive a family ticket (two adults and two children) to Coventry’s game vs Dundee Stars on Sunday (January 17).

The Blaze are currently the playoff champions in the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) after defeating the Sheffield Steelers in front of thousands of fans at a packed National Ice Centre in Nottingham earlier this year.

Despite a slow start to the 2015/16 season, Blaze head-coach Chuck Weber is looking forward to seeing as many city residents possible on Sunday (January 17) as Coventry take on the Dundee Stars (5.15pm faceoff).

Consisting of three, twenty minute, periods, Ice Hockey is rapidly becoming on of the fastest growing sports in the UK and is currently the largest indoor spectator sport in the UK.

Rob Plaister, media manager at the Coventry Blaze, said: “We’ve had some thrilling games at the Skydome this season and our game against Dundee in mid-January should be a cracker.

“The last time Blaze played Dundee at the Skydome we won on penalty shots – following a goal from Cale Tanaka with just seconds to go.

“It’s a title defending year for Coventry and the club is seeing tremendous support from Coventry fans.

“We look forward to welcoming our lucky winners.”
