RUGBY LEAGUE: A WEEK off has given Coventry Bears the perfect preparation as they prepare to make the 95-mile trip down the M1 on Saturday to take on London Skolars in the Kingstone Press League 1.
The mood in the camp Bears camp is high as summed up by head coach Tom Tsang who is looking for to a trip to the capital.
He said: “We have felt that we have been steadily improving despite results not going our way. Now we are refreshed after a weekend off and will go into Saturday’s match full of confidence.
“We can put together the positives of the last two games in particular, then we are more than capable of coming back to Coventry with our first league points of the season.
“We are still awaiting fitness checks on a number of players but hope to welcome prop Elliott Davies back from injury.”
London Skolars, like the Bears, have lost both their opening games, but both teams would point to the fact that the teams they have played are likely to be the strongest in the league this year and likely promotion candidates.
This is a chance for both sides to get that welcome first two points of the season with Tsang’s men keen to do better than the 52-20 defeat they suffered in London a year ago.
