WARWICKSHIRE County players joined Solihull Municipal members to celebrate their 50th anniversary.

In the end Solihull managed to get the win by just three shots – 98-95.

Highest winning rink for Warwickshire went to Debbie Bloxham (Stratford) with John Bentien (Solihull Municipal), Jayne Henfrey (Lillington) and Michael Jackson (Three Spires) who slowly but surely kept their foot on the pedal eventually winning 18-11.

Bruce Truman with Vanessa Brazier (both Rugby Railway), Peter Vale-Humphries and Mark Sylvester (both Wellesbourne) were nine-all at 10 ends before their opponents started to pull away. It left the visitors trailing 11-17 but their determination showed over the last two ends as they finished 21-17.

Chris Cooke (Southam) with Liz Crispin (Wolvey), Paul Brown (Sherwood Park) and Donna Kerr (Lillington) started well but were overtaken in the middle part of the game before coming back to draw 15-15.

Bob Allcock with Victor Mortimer (both Tamworth), Sigrid Thomas (Rugby Thornfield) and Jean Williams (Stratford) were fairly evenly match with their Solihull opponents but were pipped to the post on the last end to trail 16-17.

Maureen Edwards with Chris Harding (both Rugby Thornfield), Fred Bannister (Lillington) and Mary Wheildon (Warwick Boat Club) started well but their opponents were not to be outdone and gradually pulled ahead to win 19-15.

Joy Cooke (Blossomfield) with Geoff Moran (Norgren), George Morrison and Vivienne Belt (both Sherwood Park) weren’t so fortunate and finished 10-19.
