RUGBY LEAGUE: IT PROVED to be a game of two halves as Coventry Bears lost out to London Skolars on Saturday, in a match where they out-scored their rivals in the second period.
Tom Tsang’s side lost 42-16 at the New River Stadium which was a third consecutive defeat in the league this season.
The hosts led 30-0 at the break and despite a spirited second half showing, which saw Coventry claw back 16 points thanks to tries from Freeman, Delaney and Russel, the damage had already been done in the opening period.
Bears coach Tsang told the Observer: “I’ve had some very honest conversations with the players this week and we are collectively determined to arrest the current run of losses as quickly as possible.
“We have proven in all games we have played that we are capable, we just need to sustain it for a full game and have the confidence that we can get the job done.”
Up next for the Bears is another away fixture against Whitehaven before they face Oxford at home on Good Friday.
Tsang added: “The schedule doesn’t help, we didn’t play the week before, and now we have another week off, it’s difficult to get the momentum going. I am still confident that we will come good sooner than later.”
