Coventry Bears quintent go on international duty

Coventry Editorial 1st Nov, 2018   0

FOUR Coventry Bears players are part of the Welsh squad competing in the European Championships.

Uncapped Chris Vitalini, Rhys Gant, James Mason and Liam Rice Wilson received the call up for Wales, who lost 54-18 to France on Saturday, while Peter Ryan has been selected for the Irish squad.

Ryan managed to get some game time for his country at the weekend as Ireland beat Scotland 36-10.

Meanwhile, Bears have wasted little time in preparing for the new season and have already managed to secure the services of England student internationals Dan Gover and Kieran Sherratt.

Further new recruits include John Sipawa, Leon Harber, Jacob Jones and Mitchell Shaw.

Reece Rance, Chris Barratt, Hayden Freeman, Dante Morley-Samuels, Brad Sheridan, Harry Kauffman and Ben Grey have also committed to the club.

However, the hunt for new players continues and the Bears are holding trials on November 11 at the Butts Park Arena.
