MAN of the moment Brian Stewart wants Blaze to back-up their win over Nottingham Panthers by picking up something this weekend.
The Canadian goaltender was in superb form as Blaze overcame Panthers 2-1 in a shoot-out at the Skydome on Sunday night.
Stewart made 36 saves and was solid in the shoot-out to deservedly pick up the man of the match accolade.
Up next is a trip to Wales to face Cardiff Devils on Saturday before Sheffield Steelers visit Coventry (5.15pm face-off).
“It was a huge win,” said Stewart. “Especially against a team like Nottingham. We played really well as a team and played some good hockey.
“(Coach) Chuck (Weber) has come in and done a really good job, we are now defending out and limiting teams’ scoring chances which makes it easier for me.
“We are capable of beating any team on any night, we have just been finding ways to lose. We need to start picking up points every weekend if we are to get in the play-offs.
“Nottingham was just one game and it will mean nothing if we don’t get anything this weekend, although the schedule does not get any easier.
“Cardiff are one of the best teams in the league and they play really well in their rink but hopefully we can pull out a result.
“We have not been healthy for a long time but now we have a full line-up we can be dangerous.”
