COVENTRY CITY striker Conor Chaplin has completed a permanent switch from Portsmouth following his initial loan spell.

A Sky Blues spokesperson said: “Coventry City are pleased to confirm that striker Conor Chaplin has completed his permanent move from Portsmouth.

“Conor joined the Sky Blues on Deadline Day back in August on an initial loan deal, with a view to a permanent move once the January Transfer Window opened.

“The 21-year old has now put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Sky Blues.

“The striker has made 21 appearances so far this season, scoring five goals, with his latest strike coming in the 2-0 win over Wycombe Wanderers on New Year’s Day, to extend a run of three consecutive wins.

“Conor and his team mates will travel to Scunthorpe United tomorrow afternoon, as they look to make it four on the bounce in League One.”
