COVENTRY Judo Club’s Yasmin Javadian has been selected for this year’s Junior (U21) European Championships in Bulgaria next month.

Javadian will be making her Junior European Championships debut in Sofia and is part of a nine-strong team selected by British Judo for the competition which runs from September 13 to September 16.

The under-52kg judoka has had an excellent first year at junior level.

The current Junior British champion has won gold at the Danish Open as well as silver at the Coimbra and La Coruna Junior European Cups as well as bronze at the Paks Junior European Cup.

Those three results have seen her move into the top 20 in the world at junior level.

Javadian will fight on the first day of competition.
