HOCKEY: RICKI Saund scored the only goal of the game as Coventry & North Warwickshire recorded their second win of the season away at Old Silhillians in the Midland League Division Two.
After being on the wrong end of a 10-2 scoreline at home to Boots, Coventry bounced back with Saund scoring five minutes from time.
During the first half there were chances for both teams with Aidan Johnson saving well from open play while the home side wasted a good chance from a short corner.
Ricky Saund won the only short corner for Coventry in the opening period but Waqar Akbar’s strike was just wide of goal.
Some good pressure towards the end of the half promised a goal with Sam Clarke setting up Saund who brought out a smart save from the Old Silhillians keeper.
It soon became evident that goals would be hard to come by after the break with neither side able to break down the other.
But the all important breakthrough came with five minutes left to play when the ball fell to the impressive Pritchard whose shot was neatly deflected into the corner by Saund.
