COVENTRY and North Warwickshire suffered a one-wicket defeat to Pershore in the final over of their Birmingham League Division Two clash.
C&NW were dismissed for 188 in the 50th over, leaving Pershore with 60 overs to reach their target.
Tarandeep Toor (69) and Matthew Clements (60) were the leading batsmen for C&NW and there were four wickets apiece for Pershore’s Charlie Cross (4-38) and Darren Critcher (4-40).
At 171-6, Pershore appeared to be heading for victory, thanks to 55 from Chris Miles.
However, Toor took three quick wickets for eight runs to send Pershore to 180-9.
Earlier in the innings, Greg Ricketts had taken 4-41 but he no longer had overs to bowl as Pershore’s last wicket pair of Andrew Hill (14no) and Critcher inched them over the line with four balls of the 60 overs remaining.
C&NW head to Wombourne on Saturday.
