Coventry & North Warwickshire lose again on the road at Edgbaston

Coventry Editorial 9th Feb, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

A NINTH defeat of the season for Coventry & North Warwickshire at Edgbaston has seen them drop down to second from bottom in the Midlands One league.

Failure to convert second half chances and difficulty in coming to terms with the conditions consigned Coventry to a 3-0 loss on Saturday, while the loss off Sam Clarke and cousin Ben Clarke proved to be a big miss.

Aiden Johnson did well to save a short corner shot in the opening minutes but Edgbaston found a way through after finding an opening through the back line for a simple tap in.

The hosts then doubled their lead to take a 2-0 lead into half-time but in the second period Coventry lifted their performance.

Jonny Leong was on form and tried to show the way with some deft touches but three short corners were wasted as they tried to make a comeback.

The final minutes saw a further goal conceded from a rebound after a good save by Johnson to wrap up a comfortable 3-0 win for Edgbaston.
