Coventry's premier Irish pub all set for annual St Patrick's Day celebration

THOUSANDS of people will be painting the city green this Thursday for St Patrick’s Day and Coventry’s Premier Irish venue is gearing itself up for another busy celebration.

Situated in the heart of Earlsdon, the popular Four Provinces pub, or the ‘Four P’s’ as it’s known to locals, is preparing itself for another action packed St Patrick’s Day.

Following on from the success of last year, the family-friendly pub will be opening its doors at 12pm with Irish music being played throughout the afternoon.

At 2pm the All Ireland GAA Hurling and football finals will be shown before the live entertainment gets underway in the evening.

The Sisters of Murphy are a six-piece traditional Irish band who will be taking centre stage at 5pm and they will be accompanied by Mary McHugh, who heads the pub’s School of Irish Dancing and will be providing the rhythm to the music.

As the atmosphere hots up, The Four Provinces’ very own DJ Davin will be heading up the ‘Direct from Dublin Disco’ and will once again provide the soundtrack for another enjoyable St Patrick’s Day.

Owned by best friends Martin Ryan and Alex Ceairns, the Four Provinces has gone from strength to strength since the duo took over back in the summer of 2014.

It has become an integral part of the local community and houses a free to hire function room and hosts Irish dancing sessions, as well as numerous sports clubs.
