COVENTRY Road Club hosted the 70th edition of the annual Boxing Day Cyclo-cross Race on Kenilworth Common – celebrating seven decades of thrilling action.
In the main race, Groupama FDJ rider Ben Askey produced a dominant display to claim a deserved victory in front of a large crowd.
And Kate Eedy delivered a fine performance to take the title of the first female rider to cross the line.
Local businesses EweMove Estate Agents and The Broom Wagon Cyclery sponsored the event.
EweMove owner, Matt Clinton said: “It was amazing to support the event in its 70th year. I’ve been attending this event as both a rider and a spectator for over 20 years, this year appeared to have the best attendance yet.
“Being a local business it’s great to support an event like this, drawing in competitors from miles around.
“Once again I was in awe of the athleticism and determination of all the riders, the individual dedication which is something that ties in well with the EweMove ethos of personalised service.”
The event is the longest-running cyclo-cross race in the United Kingdom and has become a staple of the festive season.
