JEFFERSON Tear-Verweij secured a third successive race win in round 11 of the West Midlands Cyclo-cross League at Walsall Arboretum.

Tear-Verweij, riding for Coventry-based Team Enable, superbly navigated a tough course in cold and muddy conditions to claim victory in the under-16 race.

At the same event, Darren Atkins powered his way to victory in the 50-plus age category, more than two minutes ahead of the next finisher.

And new Team Enable rider Mark Shepherd rode to an impressive third place finish with Nick Popham sixth, Andy Jackson 45th and Alan Buxcey 51st.

In the 60-plus age category, Phil Roach claimed a second place finish with Pete Busby sixth and Tim Stowe eighth while Tom Bradley came home 10th in the senior race.

And in the 40-plus race, Colin Miller finished second to achieve his best finish of the season so far in a close battle with three other riders.

Elsewhere, in round 10 of the Central Cyclo-cross League, Ray Cochrane finished fifth in the 60-plus age category after a tough start in Hillingdon, his best result of the season to date.
