CYCLING - Team MI Racing riders celebrate time trial success

TEAM MI Racing enjoyed a busy start to the Spring racing season as the team’s riders celebrated time trial success.

The Coventry-based team achieved a one-two-three finish at a Leamington Cycling and Athletics Club event over a five-mile course between Gaydon and Kineton.

Tom Bradley took the race win on his time trial bike with teammates Mark Wise and Andy Jackson second and third respectively on their road bikes.

Elsewhere, Nuneaton-based rider David Mead finished second in the Kettering CC 20-mile time trial behind national record holder George Fox.

Mead blasted around the course in a time of 44 minutes 59 seconds with Simon Law fourth and Wise fifth in the road bike category.

MI Racing’s Zoe Shepherd finished third in the Northampton and District Cycling Association 10-mile race in Bedfordshire after crossing the line in 27 mins 15 secs,




At the same event, Leamington-based rider Wise clocked 23 mins 45 secs to finish fifth in the men’s road bike category.

Nuneaton’s Joe Murray rode to 10th place overall at the Melton Olympic Cycling Club 10-mile event in extremely windy conditions.


He finished second in his age category with his time of 22 mins 20 secs adjusted for his age group.

Elsewhere, Nick and Lynsey Whitley began their campaigns in round one of the North Wales Circuit Series.

Nick rode to a 15th place finish in the bunch while Lynsey finished sixth in her race and crossed the ine as the first-placed veteran rider.

The 2026 British Cycling MTB Cross Country Series has also begun with a number of MI Racing riders in action.

Round one of the five-round series took place in Plymouth as Nick Popham placed 14th in the masters open 50-plus competition.

And N Whitley placed fifth in round two of the series with Popham further back in 25th position.

In the masters open 60-plus race, Rugby-based David Garrett finished 17th.

And James Garrett also finished sixth in the sport open race.
