TEAM MI Racing’s latest signing starred for the Coventry-based team at Rugby Racing Cycling Club’s 10-mile race.
Teenage rider James Bacon powered to victory racing in his first-ever time trial in the road bike category and sixth overall.
The 18-year-old from Stratford-upon-Avon flew around the course in 21 minutes and 44 seconds to finish ahead of older and more experienced riders.
And Team MI Racing’s David Mead, from Nuneaton, took overall victory. The 49-year-old took first place in a new course record time of 19 mins 34 secs.
He bettered the 19 mins 39 secs record set by Stuart Dangerfield at the British National Championships in 2003.
Further back, teammate Joe Murray finished in 11th with Mark Wise 15th, Mick Wills 24th and David Garrett 30th.
The combined times of Mead, Bacon and Murray saw Team MI Racing claim the team prize.
Mead also raced in the Cycling Time Trials/Road Time Trial Council National 25-mile Championship event.
He finished 20th overall in 52 mins 30 secs competing against some of the quickest riders in the country.
However, Mead finished in a quick enough time to take the national title in his age category.
And Mead, Murray, Wise and Greg Ashley all rode in the Coventry Cycling Club Eileen Sheridan Memorial 10-mile time trial race.
Mead took the race win in 19 mins 46 secs with Murray sixth, Wise 15th and Ashley 17th.
The team once again took the overall prize for being the fastest team.
Elsewhere, the final round of the Friday night Summer Series of mountain bike races took place
Rugby-based James Garratt finished third in the senior category while Nick Popham placed third in the grand veteran category.
