Ex-England rugby stars to join fans as Wasps take on Leicester Tigers clash

TWO EX-ENGLAND rugby internationals will be making special guest appearances at the Ricoh Arena tomorrow for Wasps’ hotly-anticipated clash with Leicester Tigers.

World Cup winner and former Wasps captain Lawrence Dallaglio and former England International and ex Leicester Tigers player Austin Healey will be among fans at the game to cheer on their old sides.

They will then make their way to the Fan Village, inside the Jaguar Exhibition Hall, to watch England take on Wales in what is being dubbed a Six Nations decider match.

They will be joined on stage by ITV’s Six Nations commentator Nick Mullins to analyse all of the action from Twickenham.

Martin Fallon, marketing manager at Wasps, said: “The Ricoh Arena will be absolutely buzzing on match day.

“Fans are going to be in for a real treat both on and off the pitch.

“Wasps are playing some of the best rugby in the Aviva Premiership at the moment, and afterwards, there’s the opportunity for supporters to go and rub shoulders with England legends Lawrence Dallaglio and Austin Healey in the Fan Village.”

Wasps will be looking to make it a fifth straight home win as they maintain the push towards the top of the Aviva Premiership.

The rivalry between the two teams has been ramping up in recent weeks, as a Wasps advertising van hovered around Leicester’s home ground, Welford Road, before their recent home games against London Irish and Exeter Chiefs.

Thousands of fans saw Wasps favourite Christian Wade sporting the black and gold colours, urging fans to “be there!”

The light-hearted move was in response to a billboard that was erected by Leicester Tigers outside the Ricoh Arena last year, which boasted the words ‘on your doorstep since 1880.’

Tomorrow’s action gets underway at 11.15am with the Fan Village boasting a range of activities for all ages.

A giant inflatable rugby pitch will be on hand to entertain the younger kids with tag rugby games, while fans can go head-to-head with their family and friends in a try line tussle and kick for goal games.

Wasps’ official club partner, EMC2, will also be showcasing their interactive zone where fans will compete to see who can pass the ball the fastest as well as testing their driving skills on a Formula 1 simulator.

Tickets for Wasps v Leicester Tigers are available from £20 for adults and under-10s go free and are available from www.wasps.co.uk or by ringing 024 7678 6411.
