FOOTBALL - AFC Coventry Rangers win Charity Cup

Coventry Editorial 9th May, 2023   0

AFC COVENTRY Rangers lifted the Coventry Charity Cup as they came from behind to beat Central Ajax 3-1 at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

Rangers fell behind to Adam Taylor’s goal on 11 minutes as he fired past Rangers goalkeeper Jack Hartopp after Shaye Eden rattled the crossbar in the opening couple of minutes.

However, Coventry equalised in the second half on 54 minutes when Connoll Farrell found the net.

And Rangers completed the turnaround on 81 minutes when Fola Fasbeni was fouled in the box and picked himself up to convert the resulting penalty.

Coventry sealed the trophy in injury time as Farrell finished off a flowing move to cap off a fine individual performance with his second goal of the game.
