BEDWORTH United slipped to back-to-back home defeats for the first time this season after losing 2-1 against Racing Club Warwick.
Andre Wright’s late goal on debut set-up a grandstand finish at The Oval after Louis Monaghan and Archie Hamp put the visitors in command at the break.
The result means Bedworth sit 16th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table, two points above the relegation zone.
Warwick broke the deadlock on five minutes when Monaghan finished a cross from the right past Liam O’Brien.
The home side went close to an equaliser as Wright’s header failed to find the target before Dexter Walters slashed an effort narrowly wide.
The visitors then spurned a golden chance to double their lead as Joe Willis sent a free header wide from six-yards out.
However, Warwick eventually found a second goal four minutes before the break when Hamp guided a header beyond O’Brien from James Hancocks’ cross.
Bedworth hit the woodwork after the break as substitute Leo Stone’s effort cannoned off the crossbar.
The hosts halved the deficit with nine minutes left to play when debutant Wright poked the ball past Sam Lomax from Stone’s through ball.
The Greenbacks applied plenty of late pressure but were unable to find an equaliser.
Bedworth are next in action against Long Eaton United on Saturday, October 5 with kick-off at 3pm at Grange Park.
