JOE Blowers scored an injury-time equaliser to rescue a point for Coventry United in a 2-2 home draw with Histon.
Blowers levelled the game at the death after Charlie Morgan opened the scoring with Connor Barnes and Daniel Gould on target for Histon at Butts Park Arena.
The result means Coventry sit 11th in the United Counties Premier League South table.
Coventry went close to the opening goal when Karabo Motshweni’s shot from 25-yards out hit the left-hand post after good work from Blowers.
And Morgan then headed over the crossbar before Histon goalkeeper Sam Roach made a fine save to deny Harry Wilson the opening goal.
United eventually broke the deadlock on 57 minutes when Morgan headed in Stanley Dube’s cross at the back post.
However, Histon equalised eight minutes later as Barnes stabbed the ball home from close range after Coventry failed to deal with a corner delivered to the near post.
And after Dube returned to the field following 10 minutes in the sin bin, Histon looked to have won the game in the final minute when Gould scored from the penalty spot after Alex Vineall handled in the box.
However, there was still time for Blowers to snatch a last gasp equaliser for the Red and Greens with a finish into the bottom corner after playing a neat one-two with substitute Abdul Bambah.
Coventry are next in action away at Easington Sports on Saturday, February 17 with kick-off at 3pm at Addison Road.
