BOBBY Thomas admits ‘there is no better feeling’ after scoring an injury-time winner for Coventry City against Queens Park Rangers.
Thomas headed in Jack Rudoni’s corner from the right four minutes into injury time to earn City the points at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
And the defender believes the victory will keep the Sky Blues on the right track with City now just one point outside of the Championship play-off places.
Thomas said: “There is no better feeling. To snatch it in the last minute keeps us in the right direction after a tough week.
“It is one of them, a smash and grab in the last minute and everyone would say that.
“It gets us back on track to what we are aiming for.
“It was a routine, we practised it and it came off, so I put that down to John Dempster, working our set-pieces.
“I think he deserves a shoutout, I think he will be chuffed, and we are all chuffed.”
Coventry returned to winning ways following back-to-back defeats against Leeds United and Ipswich Town.
And Thomas praised his side’s diligence in defence after the Sky Blues recorded a fourth clean sheet in their last six league matches.
Thomas added: “I think we were brilliant. We are very diligent with our jobs.
“I put the defending down to the team, the staff, the work we do on the training pitch in the week and the video work we are doing.
“It is nice to be not where we were near the start, we need to keep looking and striving and try to get where we want to get to.
“We need to take it steady, you know the old saying, next game.”
Coventry are next in action against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, February 15 with kick-off at 3pm at Hillsborough.
