COVENTRY City have released captain Liam Kelly following the conclusion of the 2023/24 campaign.

Kelly’s departure brings an end to the midfielder’s seven-year spell with the Sky Blues in which time he played 180 games and scored three goals helping the club reach the brink of the Premier League from League Two.

Goalkeeper Simon Moore also departs the Sky Blues and last featured for City in an FA Cup third round tie against Wrexham in January 2023.

Coventry have previously offered a contract to key attacking midfielder Callum O’Hare with his current agreement with the Sky Blues to end in June.

Under-21 players Dermi Lusala and Bradley Stretton will also leave the club.

Sky Blues boss Mark Robins said: “I would like to thank those who are leaving for their time with us, the contributions that they have made to Coventry City, and wish them all of the best for their future careers.

“In particular, Liam Kelly will be rightly lauded as a club legend.

“He has been an impeccable professional on and off the field, and an integral part of Coventry City’s rise through the divisions in recent years.

“I would also like to thank Simon, Dermi and Bradley, and wish them the best of luck for the future.”

Loanee Luis Binks will return to parent club Bologna after making 23 appearances in all competitions.

City have offered a new contract to young goalkeeper Luke Bell while all other players currently under contract will remain at the club.
