COVENTRY City will play Duncan Ferguson’s Forest Green Rovers in a pre-season friendly in preparation for the 2023/24 campaign.
City make the trip to Forest Green’s New Lawn Stadium on Tuesday, July 18 with kick-off at 7pm.
Rovers endured a difficult 2022/23 campaign as the club suffered relegation to League Two having spent just a single season in League One.
Forest Green finished bottom of the table, some 19 points from safety, with former Everton and Newcastle United striker Ferguson appointed as the club’s manager in January.
Former Coventry forward Amadou Bakayoko is on the books at the New Lawn and scored 13 goals in 85 appearances for the Sky Blues during a three-season spell.
The Sky Blues have already announced other friendly matches against Milton Keynes Dons and Exeter City.
