JOEL Latibeaudiere’s first Coventry City goal proved in vain after the Sky Blues conceded late on to draw 1-1 with Hull City.
Latibeaudiere’s first-half header looked to have won the game for City only for Aaron Connolly to level for the home side three minutes from time at the MKM Stadium.
And the result means the Sky Blues sit 15th in the Championship table after six matches.
The hosts created the first chance of the game after Coventry failed to clear their lines at a set piece and Connolly dragged an effort a few yards wide of the target at the back post.
Mark Robins’ side responded with a chance of their own when Yasin Ayari picked out Jay Dasilva in the box who curled a shot narrowly wide of the post.
And the Sky Blues took the lead on 27 minutes as Latibeaudiere’s header beat Hull goalkeeper Matt Ingram at his near post from Josh Eccles’ corner from the right.
Hull spurned a glorious chance to draw level before the break when Connolly volleyed wide at the back post from close range.
Chances were at a premium in the second half as Ingram kept out Liam Kelly’s driven strike from distance.
However, the home side equalised on 87 minutes when Connolly’s superb flicked header found the right corner of the goal from Tyler Morton’s cross.
Coventry are next in action away at Cardiff City on Tuesday, September 19 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Cardiff City Stadium.
