COVENTRY City have earned a Family Excellence Gold Award for the 2024/25 season.
The EFL’s family excellence scheme awards clubs with gold, silver or bronze status based on the matchday experience they provide to families.
Coventry are one of 18 clubs to receive gold status with a record number of teams achieving family excellence recognition.
Clubs receive two visits from family assessors who evaluate the matchday experience for families.
The family assessors consider the quality of matchday activations and experience, stadium accessibility and facilities, retail and refreshments, and how the club communicates with families.
Coventry received praise for their new matchday activity area along with the information and service provided to supporters.
This includes the club’s family zone and Sky Blues in the Community.
The Sky Blues received a bronze award last year and the newly-awarded gold status recognises the club’s focus on improving the matchday experience for supporters.
Coventry also won an award for the club’s engagement on social media.
This includes the club’s responsiveness to fan queries and information provided to fans building up to matchdays.
Coventry owner and executive chairman, Doug King said: “We are delighted to receive the gold award in the EFL’s Family Excellence Scheme.
“Enhancing the experience for supporters on our matchdays has been very important to us and it is great for this to be recognised for this, with aspects like the new matchday activity area and also
the focus provided by staff being vital to the assessors rating of us.
“It is important that we attract families alongside the diverse range of ages and ethnicities that come to the arena to support Coventry City, and we will use this award as a platform to continue these improvements and our engagement with fans.”
