COVENTRY City ended the year with a frustrating goalless at home against managerless Millwall.
The closest either side came to finding a winner saw Jack Rudoni’s effort come back off the bar and post at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
And the result means Coventry sit 15th in the Championship table.
Millwall went close in the first half as Oliver Dovin tipped Ryan Leonard’s shot from just inside the penalty area behind for a corner.
The visitors had another chance later in the half as Japhet Tanganga looped a header onto the roof of the net from Leonard’s cross.
In a half of few chances, Dovin then comfortably held Femi Azeez’s driven effort after the winger burst into the penalty area.
Coventry responded with a chance of their own as Victor Torp fired a first time shot straight at Millwall goalkeeper Lukas Jensen.
And City went closest to breaking the deadlock after the break as Josh Eccles found Rudoni in space in the box only for the latter’s shot to hit the underside of the bar and then the post before bouncing to safety.
The Sky Blues spurned another chance when Rudoni passed inside to Torp who curled a shot wide from 20-yards out.
Coventry are next in action against Cardiff City on Wednesday, January 1 with kick-off at 3pm at the Cardiff City Stadium.
