COVENTRY City have seen two bids rejected for Swansea City captain Matt Grimes as the Sky Blues look to add to their squad before the end of the January transfer window.
The Sky Blues have twice been knocked back in their attempts to sign central midfielder Grimes, according to BBC Sport.
Grimes has scored two goals and provided one assist in 29 appearances this season.
The BBC believe Grimes would ‘be handed a significant pay rise’ if he made the move to the Sky Blues.
The 29-year-old became Swansea captain in 2019 and has made 333 appearances for the Swans scoring 16 goals.
Coventry make the trip to Swansea this weekend (Saturday, February 1, kick-off 3pm).
Sky Blues head coach Frank Lampard is yet to add to his squad during the January transfer window.
City saw a loan move for Rangers winger Rabbi Matondo break down after talks between the two clubs.
The transfer window closes at 11pm on Monday, February 3.
