FOOTBALL - Coventry City make two changes for Championship play-off semi-final first leg against Sunderland

COVENTRY City have made two changes to their team ahead of the Championship play-off semi-final first leg against Sunderland.

Full back Jay Dasilva returns from suspension to start at left back while Brandon Thomas-Asante replaces Ellis Simms in attack.

Goalkeeper Ben Wilson keeps the gloves – after making his first start since October in the 2-0 final day victory against Middlesbrough.

However, Dasilva replaces Jake Bidwell in the back four with Milan van Ewijk, Bobby Thomas and Liam Kitching all retained in the starting side.

In midfield, Matt Grimes partners captain Ben Sheaf once again.

And Tatsuhiro Sakamoto, Jack Rudoni and Haji Wright play behind Thomas-Asante who impressed off the bench against Boro.




Coventry’s starting XI: Wilson; van Ewijk, Thomas, Kitching, Dasilva; Grimes, Sheaf; Sakamoto, Rudoni, Wright; Thomas-Asante.

Substitutes: Collins, Binks, Latibeaudiere, Bidwell, Eccles, Allen, Paterson, Mason-Clark, Simms.
