COVENTRY City are set to make Spanish left-back Miguel Angel Brau the club’s first summer signing.
Journalist Matteo Moretto is reporting Coventry have signed the 23-year-old left-back from La Liga 2 club Granada.
Moretto specialises in transfers and has a following of just under 370k on X.
Moretto said on X (translated): “Coventry City has completed the signing of Miguel Ángel Brau from Granada.”
Brau is out of contract at the Spanish club where he has scored two goals in 27 appearances.
Granada finished seventh in Spain’s second tier last season, just four points outside of the play-offs.
Granada-based newspaper Ideal first reported Coventry’s interest in the player in March earlier this year.
The defender reportedly turned down two new deals to remain in Spain with Granada.
He spent four years in Granada’s B team and spent time on loan at Talavera.
The full-back suffered a torn ACL in his left knee in May 2023 which kept him sidelined until March 2024.
However, he progressed to Granada’s first team and made his La Liga debut as a substitute in a 7-0 defeat against Girona in the 2023/24 season.
He established himself in Granada’s starting line-up last season but now looks set to become Coventry’s first signing of the summer.
